For one week in May, Vienna became the centre of Europe's crypto conversation. Bybit EU was on the ground for nearly all of it. Not as a spectator, but as a participant, a speaker, and a builder.
The week began with Co-CEO Georg Harer taking the stage at the Wiener Börse panel, where he brought Bybit EU's perspective on the regulatory transformation underway in European capital markets. The Wiener Börse (the Vienna Stock Exchange) is one of Europe's oldest and most respected financial institutions, and its engagement with crypto is a signal of how seriously the traditional financial world is taking the digital asset revolution.
Co-CEO Georg Harer also joined a legal roundtable hosted by EY Law and Solidus Labs, focused on the practical road to a MiCAR licence. The conversation was technical and detailed, covering everything from compliance architecture to the operational requirements of running a regulated crypto exchange in Europe. For Bybit EU, which has already navigated that journey, it was an opportunity to share hard-won insights with peers who are still on the path.
Co-CEO Georg Harer and Managing Director Bernhard Krick then attended the VI3NNA Congress, one of Vienna's flagship innovation events. The theme that kept returning throughout the day was the same one that has defined Bybit EU's European strategy: turning MiCAR from policy into real-world adoption. Regulation is not the destination, it is the foundation. What you build on top of it is what matters.
Co-CEO Mazurka Zeng closed the week on two stages. At ViennaBusiness, she unpacked what it actually takes to build a compliant fintech in Europe — the people, the processes, the partnerships, and the patience required to do it right. She then joined the Digital Assets Executive Breakfast hosted by HerBizz International, a gathering of senior women in finance and technology, where the conversation turned to leadership, innovation, and the role of diverse perspectives in shaping the future of digital finance.
Taken together, Vienna Crypto Week was a demonstration of what a real European crypto hub looks like. Bybit EU is proud to call Vienna home, and proud to have been part of the conversation that is shaping its future.
