API stands for Application Programming Interface. A trading API is a technical interface that allows software applications to communicate programmatically with Bybit EU systems using API credentials. API documentation explains how users and compatible software applications can interact with the API, including the available endpoints, required inputs, expected outputs and possible error responses.

The Bybit EU API allows users to access certain supported Bybit EU functionalities programmatically. Depending on the functionality available for your account, this may include accessing market data, submitting or cancelling supported trading instructions, and retrieving account-related information.

Using an API may also allow users to automate certain actions based on parameters configured by them. Automated actions are carried out based on the instructions and parameters provided by the user and do not constitute investment advice or a recommendation by Bybit EU.

Available Functions Through the Bybit EU API

Depending on the relevant API endpoint and the services available to your account, API functionality may include:

  1. Submitting and cancelling supported orders or trading instructions;
  2. Accessing market data;
  3. Retrieving and managing supported account information; and
  4. Other functions described in the applicable API documentation.

The availability of particular API functions may vary and may be subject to account, product, technical and jurisdictional restrictions.

Bybit EU API documentation provides technical information on the available REST API and WebSocket API functionality, including supported endpoints, parameters, expected responses and possible errors. You can find the API documentation here.

Keep your API credentials secure and do not disclose private API keys to unauthorised persons. Use of APIs involves technical and operational risks, including risks arising from incorrect configuration, automated instructions and compromised API credentials.
